I finally got a pillow-case finished. Fortunately for me, my length of fabric was the correct width, so all I had to do was cut it to the right length. Unlike Chad’s pillowcase, I don’t have a double-layer of fabric on the end. I would have had enough fabric, but I wanted to be able to cut out some quilt blocks. So I economised, and did an ordinary hem. The rick-rack is vintage, and made of super-soft *cotton*. We got it (and a bunch of other great stuff) out of a Good-Will grab bag. Do you realise how hard it is to *find* cotton notions nowadays? You have to purchase it special: Jo-Ann’s doesnt’ carry it.
The fabric is “Brooke’s Garden, for Red Rooster Fabric’s”, and is very soft, with a lovely heft and drape. I actually slept on this last night: It felt lovely.
One pillow-case down, and three (maybe five) to go!
